ELBISCO’s history begins in 1987 when the FILIPPOU INVESTMENTS Group purchased the HELLENIC BISCUIT COMPANY S.A. following the separation of ALLATINI S.A.’s consumer products and marketing division.
With regard to ALLATINI, it is worth noting that it is probably the oldest business enterprise in Greece. The company appears about one century before the Greek War of Independence and the formation of the Greek state. The first mill is built in Thessaloniki in 1715 and, since then, ALLATINI has never ceased growing. The biscuit division is established in 1967 and packaged biscuits appear for the first time in the Greek market. The production of packaged flours starts a year later.
Following the acquisition of HELLENIC BISCUIT COMPANY, the FILIPPOU INVESTMENTS Group makes a dynamic entry into the biscuit and flour production industry. The new ownership structure has a catalytic effect on the company’s growth. Extensive investments in production facilities, new products and an aggressive commercial policy based on advertising, have led to impressive results.
ELBISCO is expanding dynamically, as it looks for new markets and new; innovative products. Its primary objective, however, always remains quality and complete consumer satisfaction, thus identifying the company’s name with total quality!
